It’s never enough

Before I started studying penmanship, I had terrible handwriting (proof enclosed). Four years later, I was featured in the Speedball Textbook. I don’t bring this up to brag; it’s not that great of an accomplishment. I bring it up because I stopped writing after that. I got into penmanship to do things and I felt I had done enough.

Dear Reader,

Before I started studying penmanship, I had terrible handwriting (proof enclosed). Four years later, I was featured in the Speedball Textbook. I don’t bring this up to brag; it’s not that great of an accomplishment. I bring it up because I stopped writing after that. I got into penmanship to do things and I felt I had done enough.

My mistake was in the chasing of accomplishments. The chase is anxiety inducing and even when you win, it’s never enough. I’m not saying I shouldn’t have stopped or that I never should have started. All I’m saying is it is never enough.

Sincerely,
Dave

A sample of my writing from 2016, probably after a month or so of studying penmanship.
