Dear Reader,
Recently, my family was in town and on the last night of their visit during dinner, someone thought it would be fun to go around the table and say three things we were grateful for.
I’m not against gratitude or expressions of it. I just don’t see the purpose of these types of forced activities. I’m not sure what offends me more: the insincerity of these exercises or that they simply don’t work.
When my turn came, I made my stand. I started with, “This is so stupid…”. Not the best choice of words, but the discussion that followed was more interesting than any had all week.
