A little bother isn’t enough

Dear Reader,

If you’ve been reading my letters, you know I write them using the Palmer Method. It’s really the only way I care to write these days. Of course, there are other ways to write beautiful cursive, but none interest me.

The Palmer Method, or any of the “business penmanship” methods, require the use of the arm to write. This produces writing that is free and easy. It is simply a joyful way to write. The challenge is to control the pen, which took me months to learn and I still have a long way to go.

Control has always been elusive for me. It’s not for a lack of practice or dedication. There’s something else, something I don’t understand, even after years of writing. It will bother me if I never figure it out; perhaps that’s not enough.

Sincerely,
Dave
