Dear Reader:
I’ve enjoyed writing these letters every week for the past few months. More than anything, they give me a reason to sit down and write. That said, I’ve talked enough about my thoughts on penmanship and learning and life. The only thing left to do now is write.
Starting this week, I’m challenging myself to take a specimen from one of the masters and give it my best shot. This week I’ve attempted a line of copy from page 83 of The Bailey Method of Penmanship by JJ Bailey. Below is Bailey’s specimen and one of my attempts.
I also posted a video on YouTube where I compare my attempt to Bailey’s. I’ll be honest, the video is pretty rough. Rest assured I will be making lots of improvements as I figure out the format. Feel free to leave a comment on the YouTube video if you have any feedback.
